Who We Are

Military Officers Association of Southwest Florida ( a chapter of MOAA National) has been in existence since 23 June 1967. Membership is composed of: Military Officers, surviving spouses, and Civic members who support our mission.

MOAA National has about 355,000 members from every branch of service – including active duty, National Guard, Reserves, retired, former officers, and surviving spouses. The Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) is the nation’s largest and most influential association of military officers. It is an independent, nonprofit, politically nonpartisan organization. MOAA is a powerful force speaking for a strong national defense and representing the interests of military officers at every stage of their careers. MOAA’s highest priority is in taking care of our membership.

National MOAA Membership

One of the criteria for a Chapter Level of Excellence Award (LOE) is the number of national MOAA members in the Chapter. It is recommended, but not required that Chapter members join the National MOAA. There are three levels of memberships in MOAA: Basic (free), Premium (dues are paid annually), Life membership is based on age. To join MOAA for National memberships, visit: MOAA Website
